I see a lot of comments saying that the only reason Moonlight won was because of the protest last year about the Oscar's being too white and that Moonlight having an all black cast and themes about homosexuality makes it the ultimate Oscar shoe in for winning best picture. I agree with this sentiment but let's not forget about Fences- a better movie altogether. Maybe not best picture but still Denzel deserved that Best Actor over Casey. Casey barely had any lines and showed almost no emotion which any actor could do. Apathy is one of the easiest emotions to do.
