I first saw this film on VHS back around 2001; it was a well-reviewed independent film but as I recall it did not enjoy a wide theatrical release. I watched it again on DVD around 2010 and remember still liking it; I've just recently revisited it on Blu-Ray and Billy Crudup and Jennifer Connelly's efforts remain solid, if somewhat wooden-- I don't think it would receive quite the same level of critical acclaim if released today.

As a side-note, the Blu-Ray release contains no less than 48 minutes of deleted scenes, which had they been included in the original film would have increased its run time to almost two-and-a-half hours. Ahem . . . some of the guys around here might be interested to know that if they are very patient and get to almost the end of those deleted scenes, they will see an extended sequence of Crudup's and Connelly's lovemaking scene, which in my opinion is the steamiest such performance Connelly has ever done.
