I don't know when this story is said to have happened but if we had seen any calendars in this film I am sure they would have been marked B.C. after the year ;-) (The gods would know when the common era would begin). So, we know that Mickey Rourke must be immortal like the title of the film indicates, and he used to go by the name King Hyperion. Plus, he used to be very non-PC, back in the day. And the ancient docudrama makers must have used media which holds up really well for the film to have survived all these thousands of years.
Yeah, King Hyperion went a bit too far with his whole "I'm declaring war against humanity in the most cruel manner possible" deal. His popularity would probably have been a bit higher if he had only gouged out one of a man's eyes instead of both of them, and if he had made other concessions like that. Oh yeah, and Isabel Lucas, aka Athena, is one hot babe. Did I mention that?
