Sanaa Lathan's luminous presence aside, wasn't a fan of this one. Not out to denigrate your opinion, G, or start an argument with anyone else for that matter. Now at the risk of triggering a few hissy fits from some of our more intemperate brothers and sisters here on TMDB, this viewer's ranking of the Alien flicks that i've seen, from the most sublime to the most wretched:
Alien
Prometheus
Aliens
Alien: Covenant
AvP II
Alien 3
AvP I
Didn't see the one with Sigourney Weaver and Winona Ryder or anything else not included on the list.
I doubt the sanity (and eyesite) of anyone who rates AvP 2 above AvP.
I refuse to even include the franchise mash-ups in either the Alien or Predator categories. They're either bloodless, tepid attempts to make a quick buck (AVP), or helmed by idiots with no directorial talent (AVP2). Frankly, I have difficulty watching anything other than the first two films in either proper franchise.
I will admit, though, that Sanaa Lathan is EXTREMELY easy on the eyes.
Why is this movie called- Alien Vs Predator: Alien vs. Predator? Isn't just AVP or Aliens vs Predator enough, why say the same thing twice? Or does AVP stand for something else?
Kinda like the movie AI: Artificial Intelligence. The only other movie I can think of with the title said twice.

I suspect that they were trying to jump start a franchise. Acronyms are easy to remember, can be trademarked, and instantly create continuity when additional films using the same acronym are released. AVP was also familiar to fans of the comic books.
