Discuss Life

I guess we're supposed to believe that it will now wipe out all life on earth.

Will it keep growing with each kill until it wraps itself around the entire planet?

And, if this thing managed to wipe out all life on Mars, and it's so smart, does it not realize that wiping out all life on earth will once again lead to its own downfall? While we're at it, if it's sooo smart, should it not realize that it was humans who reanimated it and therefore they should be thanked, rather than exterminated?

Do we want a sequel to see if humanity is able to shut it down, or if this thing represents the end of humanity altogether?

No sequels!

See, if they did that, the next movie would only have the creature wipe out SOME of humanity, but the Earth heros would find a way to neutralize it before it wiped ALL of Earth out . . . but the Calvin creature would not really be dead, only dormant (like any standard horror movie).

So that would be "Life II".

But then there would be a Life III, and IV, and V, and . . . you get the point.

(Like the Jason Voorhees movies).

And who wants THAT?!!!

(I guess maybe someone, because they did make all those Jason movies, after all).

a sequel? i didn't even want this one!

BarkingBaphomet--

Amen.

I paid money to see this film in the theater, but was disappointed. If I'd known it was going to be nothing more than an SF horror, I would've passed.

Just for a fun guess, Calvinwould have to adapt to virus, bacteria & mould. Remember that ISS, etc are very sterile places.

Plus with Earth's gravity afffecting the pod, the alien quickly adjusted by building a web. Thus it might not be as mobile as in outer space.

Finally, Calvin reacted adversely to electricity more than other stimulants. Earth has a strong magnetic field (with iron-rich layers, etc), & with constant EM communications, who knows how it woulda affect Calvin.

Realistically there won't be a sequel, but we can only dream... :)

I liked this movie... It was fun

A sequel would ruin this movie's ending, robbing the film itself of any meaning... It's better not to know... To not have things explained is better.

I will have to crowdsource the sequel... To right the wrongs, to turkey-slap the naysayers, to gag the critics, & to breathe new life into awesome Calvin!
