Discuss Saamelaisveri

EDIT: Woopsy forgot ~SPOILER ALERT~

The story of this outcast is the story of her hair. Messy with the Lapps, messy with the Swedes, trying to comb it up to "civilized" standards, until she eventually doesn't care anymore, but it's a bit late.

Also this movie is excels at showing social violence : the photograph scene, and more generally the stares and whispers from others while they keep their voice and eyes down. Last time I found a movie so hard to watch was I, Daniel Blake from Loach.

Leaving one's hair unkempt has a tendency to leave your fellow human beings with a lousy impression of you.

Then either I'm deviant, or I'm not human :p

I'm not sure my scalding hot take on hair symbollism would hold up to close scrutiny, so please don't take my word for it.

The way the movie is directed, almost like a first-person documentary (scandinavian tradition ?), i "lived" it more than i "saw" it. That was very painfully enjoyable, if that makes sense given the dark subject matter.
