One of the better Horror movies I've seen this year. A well executed slow-burner a bit reminiscent of "The Witch." Remarkably detailed in its dealings with matters relating to the Occult and the mechanics therein. The only fault, IMO, is found in the (somewhat) disappointing—and perhaps rushed?—conclusion.
Can any of you recommend films of a similar vein?

I also thought the conclusion felt rushed and a bit unsatisfying.
Maybe The Blackcoat's Daughter... It has a similar quiet atmosphere and slow-burn indie vibe.

The Blackcoat's Daughter, Observance, The VVitch, Shelley, Sauna (2008) and Kurosawa's Kairo.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe is quite good.

Yes, this was an excellent example of how to make a horror film when you have no budget. So many filmmakers struggle with this. The amount of unwatchable, no budget indie horrors that litter bargain bins. But this was genuinely creepy and had a good concept well executed. The director deserves success.
