I felt they lost the original essence of the characters in the first three films. Michael Blomquist in particular was particularly charm free and Liz herself was strangely lacking in personality. She seemed like a suffering fighting machine rather than a woman with feelings. I wondered why she would go into a house full of armed men with only a taser. I also wondered why August's father would not have made him memorise how to destroy the program rather than enable it. Why would you place that much responsibility on a young child's shoulders. As mentioned by a previous poster the height from which she jumped and then ran off in the bleakest of winters in a thin dress and nobody followed her or caught her was not plausible. In any case where did all this appear in the original films? This film piggy backed on the Liz Salander saga but it really had nothing to do with her apart from her name.
