So, I know it's trivial, but does anyone know the symbolism/origin? It's looks like a stylized clover, but wasn't sure if there was more to it? (Since in comics there almost always is...)

Thanks for your reply. I was interested in the actual meaning of the tattoo more than what's next in the series. And if it's simply a nondescript "Clover Society" being forshadowed, I'll be a bit disappointed.
Allow me to clarify: I realize it's a symbol of the secret society, what I am interested in is the actual meaning behind the design if there is one.

I went ahead and researched my own question and this is the best explanation I found:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKpuVKSC6iY&feature=youtu.be&t=909
BTW, I found the dude in the video kind of annoying at first, but wow, he did a great job of unpacking this film. I'd recommend watching all of it if you are interested.
One final thought on the tattoos: In watching his video I noticed that the "clover" actually looks like three hearts connected at a point, rather than simply a three leaf clover. Of course, the clover, famously, was used by Saint Patrick to communicate the Gospel in just this way. The additional layer of three leaf clover being "common" while the four leaf clover being "rare" fits super well with this motif. I recently read an article that four leaf clovers are not as rare as we think...they are about 1 in every 5000. An interesting ratio if you are thinking about super heroes. ;)

The shamrock is used to symbolise the Holy Trinity, not The Gospels.

The video helped, and you figured it out, but yes. Three leaves, to them, represents the natural order of things, ie normal (non-powered) beings. So they would symbolically consider supers the four leaf variant, the abnormality that needs to be plucked out and either destroyed or contained.

Not to pick nits ('cause they're tiny little buggars) but notice my use of Gospel was singular not plural. #samesame
