In yet another "re-viewing," I ended up watching 1922...again. I hadn't exactly recalled seeing it, but as I watched it felt familiar. After finishing it, I came here and, lo and behold, I had previously rated it 5 stars. Funny enough, I agreed overall with my previous assessment, perhaps giving it 6 this time.

All that said, I was really, really disappointed by the final scene. It seemed to me that the perpetual torture was far more chilling than a knife-wielding family from the grave. If not for that--say even taking his own life--I would have rated it higher. I guess the short story ends the same? I've not read it, obviously.
