Now don't get me wrong I love a good Seagal, van Damme, Lundgren etc. movie, but these John Wick movies....not only are they rather mediocre in just about every facet but they always include so many asinine and cringe worthy scenes and ideas that you can't help but to marvel at the stupidity. I think it was the second movie that revealed among others that all the hobos in New York(?) are actually hitmen working for a secret organization not to mention about half of the people in general seem to be in said secret organization's payroll. I'm surprised the economy is growing as well as it is when half of the able bodied workforce is involved in gray economy...but I digress. I'm only halfway through the latest installment and it's Keanu doing his usual sluggish movie fighting, which doesn't seem to have gotten any more realistic from his Matrix days and watching him in the Matrix......hoo boy...it was like somebody threw a wooden chair in the room and other people were trying to fight that chair and somehow got their as$es beat. Anyways....the latest installment....once again with the asinine scenes like the adjudicator of the secret organization who apparently has god himself on speed dial because she seems to know absolutely every single thing that has happened no matter how minute the details and she goes around telling people to get their affairs in order. Then she goes to hire Mark Dacascos whose group of merry men break into a theater and brutally slaughter just about everyone there and for what.....to make a dramatic entrance and stab an old chick in the hands.

Yeah, exactly. Either get on board or get off the ride.

The first one was just ok. The 2nd, I can barely remember, and the 3rd, I bailed on about 2/3 of the way through. Yeah, I find them completely asinine.

Well, I can't say you're wrong. That said, I quite enjoyed the first one, but in their desire to outdo themselves they transgress plausibility. Perhaps I'm misremembering the first installment, but it seemed far less pretentious. The second, decent but reaching. Now? It's just franchise-sequel setups at all cost. We literally get to the end to be at the beginning again. Speaking of which: 71% rating? Really?

This saga requires a complete suspension of disbelief. Not all of us can do that, which is fine. I can look past all the asinine concepts to simply appreciate the wall-to-wall action. This is what the classic action movies were once all about and it's refreshing to see that some people are actually capable of writing them, instead of the garbage reboots we're being inundated with these days.

I would've agreed with you until the final fight scene when he went through countless glass panes (coming out each time without even a scratch!) and then got shot in chest a few times before falling from a really high building.
It's not like this is a superhero film. I get he has to survive but at least make him hurt! BTW I did enjoy this, just felt the ending went too far.
One question; did Winston really intend for John Wick to die, or was it just to give him an out knowing he would survive?!

That was discussed here.

Reminds me of a joke:
Some kids are sitting around talking about a very popular author of fiction for their age group.
One kid pipes in with: Oh, his books are nothing to brag about; I've read 17 of them and he is not so hot.

it does seem to get dumber every time. Shoulda stopped after #1 and been somewhat cool. Now it's just porn of a sort.

It's not like he dusted off his suit and walked it off. Besides which, even the Boogeyman is meant to be scared of Wick.
It is a movie that's not based on any semblance of reality, after all.

Not to be that guy, but this was deeply satisfying:

To be fair, one of his lines was telling: this is more fairy tale than action movie...that helps!

Come on, dude. There's one of those videos for every film that exists. It doesn't mean a thing. The John Wick films are silly action films. We all know there's loads wrong with them. But we are all accustomed to letting certain things slide. The film is a fun riot.
I could make one of those videos about Citizen Kane if I really thought about it for a while.
But turns out I will never have to, because:

Yeah, I know. They just did The Shining...I love that channel! I just found it oddly satisfying with the John Wick one, but to be fair, I love them all. lol
And to clarify: John Wick 3 was OK, I just think it was a bit overhyped.

I find watching those videos trains me into noticing those logic errors a lot more. So it kind of spoils cinema for me. For that reason I try not to watch them. I allow myself Honest Trailers though.
