Actually, now that I think about it, it has a little of McQueen's real-life career as well. McQueen starred in a famous Western TV show where he played a bounty hunter, Wanted: Dead or Alive while Eastwood was in Rawhide about the same time. But Eastwood did go out to Italy to make Westerns and at the time it would have been thought of as the death knell to your career when in fact it had quite the opposite effect. The way the film ends it kinda makes you think that Rick's career is looking to go on the up and up thanks in part to the crazy hippies attacking him to which he may have never have met Tate.

yeah, its a mix of actors that were famous back then. Little bit of McQueen, lil Burt Reynolds, some of Clint and sprinkle it with mix of other wild west actors. Bruce Lee character was spot on! Accent was so similar that first thought they used real audio :D

That totally makes sense knowing Tarantino. This film is totally for the film aficionado as the average filmgoer would have no clue what he was alluding to a lot of the time.

Funny that you mention him. I was watching some old episodes of The Rifleman on youtube and lo' and behold Van Cleef graced the screen in an episode. I was at work watching it and I blurted out, "Look who it is." and my co-worker was like, "Who?" . Fkn kids man. Lost in their shitty Marvel movies.
