This could have been a good British gangster movie if they had spent more money on it. Instead we have a cast of unknowns (apart from Jamie Foreman and he isn't a big name) acting it out rather poorly in dimly lit indoor situations for the most part. There's budget and there's backyard and this slots firmly into the latter. If you can't do it well - then don't do it. Also to have a 40 year old playing the part of Mad Frankie Frazer who would have been in twenties at the time this was set (1930's - 1945 +) didn't look believable.

That's why I really wanted to see it - I thought it would be really interesting because I am not familiar with this particular gang - and it COULD have made a great movie but I think they went for what they considered realism and not well known actors - but it needed some charismatic actors and they fell down there as well.
