Such a high-wire juggling act by Bong Joon-Ho. He bounces between genres with utter confidence. Funny, sweet, surprising, horrific and did I mention funny? The black humour is sustained marvellously as things darken, building towards a truly memorable climax. Definitely an early contender for film of the year, a second consecutive truly excellent Palme d'Or winner after Shoplifters - and if I see an ensemble gel more beautifully this year, I will be surprised.

Agreed. Fantastic piece of work. Vastly preferred this one to Shoplifters tbh, but very different films so not surprising. Loved it.
