is this movie really better than all the godfater movies put together?

after work i plan on buying this flick cuz my homie told me it makes the godfather movies look like a steaming pile. he said it was better than goodfellas to... what do you guys think? ill give some feed back after i watch it.

I prefer Goodfellas and Casino are better than the Godfather movies, a little bit. More of a realistic approach to life in the mob, based on the real mobsters, how they actually talked to each other.

Wasn't all that impressed with Casino. Sharon Stone ruined it for me. Found it slow and tedious. Nothing like Goodfellas, which was brilliant. The Godfather just went on too long, with all the sequels.

It's not quite the equal of Goodfellas IMO, but not far behind.
I'd agree the endless fight scenes between De Niro and Stone became a little tiresome.
Pesci was excellent - a small man with a high-pitched voice, but you can fully accept other characters being completely intimidated by him.

I've had this on my watchlist for a long time. I'll try and get around to watching it this week. The Godfather and Goodfellas are excellent, so Casino has some work to do to be better than those.
