Or at least this what this interviews seems to suggest. Sorry but nobody is obligated to like this movie or Miles.

Really enjoyed the first one. Didn't really know too much about it beforehand, so it was just a pleasant surprise, including the amazing animation.
Haven't seen this one yet but Midi-chlorian Count Jnr went to see it and their biggest complaint was the run time. I looked it up to see it was 2hrs 16 mins. Maybe a bit long for what is essentially a kids cartoon.

Yeah its a dumb take and you shouldn't agree with it.
Having said that, in MY opinion, Miles is fantastically written and performed, and the movie is nothing short of spectacular.

Never felt strongly about Miles one way or the other even though he's always pitched as being "for me" because he's black (technically half black, but he kills two birds with one stone being part hispanic). I know there's a big debate over calling him Spider-Man because Peter is Spider-Man, that's something that just comes with being a comic character.
This particular movie wasn't bad, but it's waaaaay too long and ends on a cliffhanger on top of it. I wouldn't say this is intended to "guilt trip" people into liking Miles. The thing I liked the most is that Miles technically screws everything up. The threat that happens and the chaos that ensues is entirely of his own doing.
The only other thing I didn't care for was that A LOT of time is spent focusing on Spider Gwen. Miles doesn't even show up until 20 minutes in. Black Spider Man can't even have his own movie without sharing it with a white girl character.
