Well, I suppose you know what you're in for when that dreaded Netflix logo pops up at the start of a movie. That is a load of visual and story telling garbage for two hours. The movie apparently cost at least 100 million USD to make and even with inflation I don't know how anyone associated with the movie can look in the mirror with a straight face and say "Yup....we really spent a 100 million $ on this". So we have the stock standard strong female lead who is super smart and capable and yet seems to be completely hysterical most of the time. Then we have the mech/robot who needs to inform everyone what its' pronouns are because it's a Netflix movie obviously. The story is rather stupid and has been done before. What really gets me is the idiocy and nonsense like when the mech tells strong independent female numerous times that the battery is running out and yet they stop to pick up flowers and to have "deep" emotional conversations and to pick some dog tags and god knows what else. Makes sense. Who needs oxygen or needs to live when you can pick up some flowers. Kind of like when she repeatedly takes on a group of these cyborgs (or whatever) even though a smaller group of them previously seemed to kill a whole group of trained military personnel in similar mechs or how they send a single ship to deal with a huge existential threat to mankind, but I guess Superbowl was on that weekend and they had better things to do. Well, just to say something positive about the movie it's at least better than "Fall guy", which isn't exactly high praise to be fair.

Hey ahole, I'm just curious, could you list a few recent (last 5 years or so) movies you like?

While I did mention in another thread that is very rare that you run into good movies with what is getting put out these days and most of the time it's absolute bottom of the barrel garbage there have been some decent ones like The Northman, Reptile and that Guy Ritchie movie with Jake Gyllenhaal. Hell, Madame Web turned out to be a lot better than you'd think from all the hate it was getting. The first one I'd call good that came to mind was Upgrade, but that was from 2018, but perhaps that kind of underlines how rare it is these days. If you have some suggestions for what you think are good movies from recent years I'm open to suggestions.

Also while I'm here making fun of this bad and stupid movie and especially the writing I have to say my favourite part was "Now......we do what he won't expect!" proceeds to punch cyborg Ah yes, the robot who calculated for every possible outcome and scenario could not see himself getting punched in a round of fisticuffs. This is top tier writing here folks.
