讨论 The Matrix Resurrections

I guess it should have been a hint that it was going to a big limp dick when the screenplay wasn't even written by the Wachowskis. They have been in a bit of a writing slump lately and although I wish them well I really hope this fails so that no more are made. This was a HUGE stinker. Most of the action scenes were crap, sans the Japanese bullet train scene and the story? We don't need no stinkin' story! The best part of "the story" happened off screen and I am talking about the machine civil war. They actually had something kinda interesting there. That actually woulda made for a much more intriguing film.

Moss and Reeves both had a look like "Hey, I'm here for the paycheck. Don't look at me because this sucks" . Very little emotional range from either of them. Nothing like, "I am FBI agent!" like in Point Break or when he really got riled up in the The Devil's Advocate , "Lose?! I don't lose! I WIN! I'm a lawyer! That's my job! that's what I do!" . Just rehashing lines from the original film like, "I still know kung fu" or harping away on little cool nuggets from the original film like the deja vu scene. Like dude, really? You can't come up with ANYTHING original? I don't know why I had a glimmer of hope that this had the possibility of being a good film. Stupid me, I guess.

To be fair, Carrie Anne Moss did diminish her own capacity to send blood rushing to the groins of men around the world when she lopped off all her hair for the original trilogy. Only difference today is that Father Time has now done to her appeal what she was once did voluntarily

Yeah, that's what I call The Menopause haircut. Once women get to the point of DILLIGAF in their lives, they lop off their hair and become Karens and torture poor service industry workers.

Before The Matrix, and before anyone had ever heard her name, girl rocked the long dark locks The Wachowski's may have been hinting at their own gender confusion, by having her cut all of that luscious raven hair off

I really liked her in Memento . I thought she was awesome in that. Looked pretty damn good too.

I saw the film today, I was thinking of something epic but it was an epic failure. They should have done something spectacular but they weren't. The first half hour I was about to go to sleep. Too bad because I'm a fan of the Matrix saga. I hope that with the next they do justice.

Anne-Moss will be unique among Karens though. Prior to her, these broads confined themselves to asking for the manager at Soma, whenever the claps on their Wonder Bra broke the minute they put it on, rather simply bringing in their receipts and asking for a replacement. CAM though will be walking into retailers wielding guns akimbo, and defying gravity whenever the friendly neighborhood SWAT teams shows up to get her calmed down. The world remains a scary place, even as COVID recedes into the pages of history

I think we can handle one little Karen. They are bringing her out now.

No lieutenant, your men are already dead.

Let it never be said that we here at TMDB failed to make rocky road, whenever Tinseltown had a wicked case of the runs, then mistook that s-it for movie making

Some of the drivel we write on here even sounds more original than some of the shite they release nowadays. I'm getting to that age where I find myself only rewatching old good movies because taking a chance of wasting your time to watch something new has about the same odds of winning the lotto that it will be something actually good. I'm telling you, future film historians will look at the period between 2000 - 2025 as The Dark Ages of Hollywood which consisted of an oversaturation of films derived from comic book material and where 90% of films where either remakes, based on a book or comic book, video game, etc. Dark times indeed.

Dunno about 2000-forward, but things have definitely gone to s-it in the mainstream market since the mid 2010s. Although one can make a pretty compelling argument that this Woke Lunacy really has it's roots in the atmosphere which swept The US and to a lesser extent The Western World in it's entirety in the aftermath of 9/11. We've been getting entirely too self-serious ever since

It was roughly at the turn of the century that originality began to dry upand when comic book films began to take off in Hollywood and really hit its peak in the mid 2010s like you noted. My personal politics are firmly in the left wing camp but I hate this "wokeness" for the sake of being woke such as turning characters that are traditionally one gender or race and change it up to "fix" what was wrong with it. This actually is also due to the fact that they cannot come up with any viable new characters or stories so they take an old concept, change up the genders or races, and release it as something new. OR they actually do come up with something new but because they made the protagonist a woman or a black person then they think their work is done and do not even bother coming up with a decent story, plot, dialogue, etc. Dark times (No pun intended. Well, maybe just a little 😉) indeed.

Hello everyone, im new in this forum.

I got here because i wanted to pass my eyes over all the movies and series ever made and register all the ones that i already watched and some that might be of my interest. but it looks like the filters from the website are not working properly. i tried to configure it to show by release date (older) yesterday and i rolled down until 2003. i didnt saw the simpsons cover when i got through 1989. today the filter is not working properly and i saw the simpsons listed in another configuration of filters.

I wanted to know who to talk about this because i really whant to search for all those movies. Also, can anyone tell me whats the estimated percentage of the entire cinema/TV story is listed here?

Thanks for u patience.

Yeah, I wish we had more people but at the same time I am glad it is not oversaturated like IMDB was from where I came from. The troll count was astronomical at IMDB. Here with its small user base contains mostly sincere film aficionados.
