Wrath of Manについてのディスカッション

It doesn't really anything new to the genre really, I rated it 7/10 and that's only thanks to score taking heavy inspiration from one of the best scores of all time - Sicario (both available on Spotify).

Otherwise it's just your usual Statham flick, most ridiculous part was the ending where they shoot him and pretty much kill him, but next scene you see him he is just fine walking with few scratches.

Music works, but seems over the top building up tension way more then following action deserves, overall there are pretty much just 2-3 action scenes which are repeated. Also the crew seems pretty dumb trusting each other.

For Ritchie film it's pretty good considering trash he is producing recently, for 2020/2021 with lack of good movies it's also relatively good, but there is just too little action. The violence seems to be toned down for rating as well. But hey, it's better than totally overrated trash Army of the dead.

Otherwise I would rather recommend watching again Heat, Drive, Sicario, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead etc. From recent movies Dragged Across Concrete had for sure better atmosphere. This is somewhere on par with more original Triple Frontier.

The most memorable thing about this is amazing score.

I think it was nice to see a movie like this still being made in 2021. You know, a movie there director just focused on making a decent movie and story instead of trying to force some identity politics down the viewers throat. Unfortunately in 2021 this would probably be considered a freak occurrence in 'mainstream' movies.

Like you said it's a pretty normal Jason Statham movie and I'd say a solid 7/10 as well or 7.5/10 tops. You mention the part where he is shot, but to be honest I think the part where he got shot earlier without any body armor was probably even more ridiculous. Although the body armor they were wearing that seemed to be a able to take entire assault rifle magazines and even numerous head shots was even sillier.

More importantly, does Statham take off his shirt at any point in the movie?

Haha. I don't remember if he took his shirt off. I think he probably did. He bedded a female character. She wasn't topless at any time, though. I'm pretty sure I would have remembered that.

I could ask my wife. She probably remembers.

Her major complaint was that it didn't have as many laughs as a Guy Ritchie movie typically generates.

I loved the way the plot was constructed. The opening action scene is shown several times, and the viewer is spoon fed a little more information with each iteration. We slowly realize why Jason Statham is acting the way he is and it gradually dawns on us that not every character is who they first seem to be.

I do think the violence was over the top and detracted from the realism of the story.

I enjoyed the way the story was constructed as well, kept things interesting. I liked how there were a few red herrings of who the inside man was. Good to see Josh Hartnett in something mainstream too.

I tried to like this movie (I'm a sucker for Jason's movies) but turned it off about 30 minutes in. The dialogue was stilted & weird. I haven't seen every Ritchie movie but it seems he has trouble writing for 'Americans'? His movies that are UK-centric, move right along (dialogue-wise).
