Anybody watch this one?

Was thinking of giving it a go, but checked some reviews on another site and quite a few were complaining that it is very boring and almost a like collection of random scenes glued together.

It's not really a collection of random scenes. I think people with short attention span might think that, but there is a clear plot and a story. This is sort of a detective story, mixed with a bit of comedy and a bit of "leftist" social message about the dangers of a fascism and who benefits from the rise of the extreme right. De Niro pretty much plays himself in this. Overall I think it's a decent movie, despite some "in your face" leftist propaganda ( and I am a liberal). Bale and Robbie are very good as usual, Washington is not. Is it worth watching? Probably not.

I stopped watching it the moment I noticed that Margot Robbie's love interest was a black man. I'm not against interracial relationships. I just don't think they belong in literally every movie or TV show. Blacks should be just as offended tbh. This is someone's fetish that they are subjecting everyone to.

This one did itself in on two fronts:

Trying to con the public into believing that John David Washington is anything more than a Luke Wilson-level actor

Keeping Margot Robbie clothed throughout the film's run

David O Russel's current work is exponentially more sanitized than even movies like Silver Linings Playbook, to say nothing of classics like 1994's Spanking The Monkey

Mecha, IS THAT YOU?
