Sedm let sledoval režisér Thomas Imbach ze svého okna demolici starého nádraží a následnou stavbu obrovského vězení, ve kterém bude umístěn velký počet cizinců. Jednoduchý pohled z okna se postupně stává nejen portrétem náhodných návštěvníků stavby, ale také pečlivě komponovaným příspěvkem v debatě o směřování moderního Švýcarska.

De film onderzoekt de verwoesting van een uniek treinstation in Zürich en de bouw van een nieuwe gevangenis en politiecentrum in plaats daarvan. Vanuit het perspectief van het raam van de filmmaker, en met getuigenissen van gevangenen die wachten op deportatie, onderzoekt de film hoe we omgaan met het uitsterven van de geschiedenis en de vervanging ervan door totale veiligheid.

The film explores the destruction of a unique train station in Zurich and the construction of the new prison and police centre in its place. From the perspective of the filmmaker’s window, and with testimony from prisoners awaiting deportation, the film probes how we deal with the extinction of history and its replacement with total security.

Le film explore la destruction d’une gare unique à Zurich et la construction d’une nouvelle prison et d’un centre de police à sa place. Vu de la fenêtre du cinéaste, et avec le témoignage de réfugiés en attente d’expulsion, le film scrute la façon dont nous faisons face à l’extinction de l’histoire et à son remplacement par une sécurité totale.

스위스 취리히의 유서 깊은 기차역이 철거되고 그 자리에 새로운 교도소와 치안센터가 건축되는 과정을 담는다. 감독은 본인의 집 창문에서 35mm 카메라를 이용해 이 과정을 7년 동안 촬영하면서, 자유로운 이동을 보장하던 철로의 확장성이 통제와 감금이라는 집약적 공간으로 변화하는 과정을 보여준다. 다이나믹한 이미지 위로 난민의 지위를 부여받지 못해 교도소에 입소 되기를 기다리는 이들의 증언이 입혀지고, 감독은 우리가 역사의 소멸, 그리고 완전한 안보라는 이름으로 역사가 대체되는 과정을 어떻게 다루는지를 보여준다. (서울환경영화제)
