Park is a great director, one of the best working today. His previous film The Handmaiden was absolute masterpiece, a powerful craft that was perfect in every sense. However I can understand that no one can operate on this level of perfection all the time, so after a masterpiece there is always a drop. Which unfortunately is the Decision to Leave. And it is still a very well crafted movie, the work of the master is still there in almost all aspects of the film. But the weak part is where the most attention is focused - the story. And for me the story here is weak and not interesting. I get the romantic side and I am sure there are some underlying cultural meanings that not all audiences will understand, but still, it's weak. For international audience it's just too childish and unrealistic, too melodramatic and lacks the cynicism. It's just not a movie for mature people, sorry.
