There's a lot of story, it's just told visually and seeps into your mind as you become familiar with the world. It's refreshing to see the 'Show don't tell' technuque adhered to so strongly.

Great story. Simply show don't tell. The dialogue spoken by each character is very important to their outlook in the post Apocalypse diesel-punk setting . One of my all time favorites. Would love to talk more about the Mad Max universe now that I've joined up here as TMDB.

It always surprises me when I happen across a comment treating the story as though it's hidden, thin, or slow. The film is bursting with story and vibrant characters from the start, it just employs a "show, don't tell" method most of the time, as said above.

The dialogue is limited. Every word and lack of a word is relevant, and they use this limited dialogue well. It's one of my favorite things about the movie. Costume design is also really important in revealing characters here. You just have to glance at the war boys, Immortan Joe, the People Eater, Splendid and you get a strong sense of what they're about as well as the setting of the world. There's so much detail in their design, also incredible detail in the props, vehicle interiors, and throughout the Citadel. It's not just the car fighting that's impressive and meant to enthrall - everything is!
