Especially so in these blatant cases where the lead actress is a person of whom you have probably never heard of.

She has 22 credits on IMDb but they are mostly shorts made by her husband (the director of this film). There is also a crossover with a lot of the actors in this film with others she has appeared in (also made by her husband). Have you seen this? Why does the plot sound so familiar?

Nah, I stumbled upon the synopsis and it sounded remotely interesting, but then I also checked out the IMDB page and noticed it was obviously directed by and she was cast in the lead role by some relative of hers. Couple that with watching the trailer and I decided this was one for the 'hard pass' pile. I don't remember who said, but it seems like a common plot device to ramble something about 'quantum mechanics' or 'quantum science' when you want your nonsensical plot to suddenly make some sense. Also I'm going to make a wild guess that this is one of those movies where the actual 'star' (Ian McKellan) is actually in the movie for a few minutes.

Not sure how big his part is, but he is in another film ( there might be more, I didn't look that closely) that was made by the same people. Maybe he is a family friend of the director?
