I haven't seen either series. I prefer the movie Halloween to the movie Friday the 13th. I find Carpenter's film to be more creative and hell, scarier.
For sure Halloween in the beginning, but Friday The 13th later on in the series. I still think Jason Lives is one of the most fun horror movies fans of the genre can watch.
As a franchise, Friday the 13th. It has 11 films and only has one reboot.
Halloween can't decide what it's doing. Is it going a new direction? Is it ignoring 3-4 sequels? Is it rebooting? Is it ignoring ALL sequels?
It's a mess....
This is my thoughts as well. In my opinion none of the Friday the 13th movies can touch Halloween, but as far as the sequels I would rather watch the Friday series.
Friday all the way for me! I love fun 80s horror and even the reboot had that vibe about it... Halloween 1 & 2 were good, the sequels were terrible and as much as I love Rob Zombie's music, his movies just don't do it for me.
Saying that I still haven't seen 'Jason Goes to Hell'...

Do yourself a favor and don’t ever see it.

Halloween by a long shot - original idea, scarier villain, better acting! I like both franchises though

Friday the 13th is a more consistent series but none of them matches the first Halloween.
