Yet again here I am revisiting Black Christmas (2006) which has become a yearly must for me around this time of year. I watch a variety of the usual "family" Christmas movies around late December like many but I love a good Christmas horror too to throw into the mix such as: the original Black Christmas, Silent Night Deadly Night, Silent Night (2012), Gremlins etc and also going to check out Krampus this year too.. I am a big fan of horror movies and I know there are a lot of bad ones out there but I definitely don't consider this one of them. I still can't get my head around why all the hate for this movie? I know it's far from perfect as are the others I mentioned above but this to me is an excellent fun Christmas horror that feels more festive than most of the others I know and as someone else mentioned on this forum it's so COZY.. Lol It really is!

I honestly believe that the hate comes from the fact that it is a remake of the iconic and influential 1974 original movie so straight up I don't think this one ever had a chance.

This one is clearly not to be taken so seriously but to just have fun with. It basically does for Christmas what Trick 'r Treat does for Halloween, it does it's very best to get you in the festive spirit, whilst still being a bit twisted and sinister in the process which is probably why I love it so much, I wish others could try watch it as more of a stand alone film rather than a remake and I'm sure it could catch on and be appreciated better?
