Ward Bond much have one of the most dazzling filmographies of any actor in Hollywood history. What a list of classics! While most of his parts were on the small side, he was a memorable face who always made an impression. And on the rare occasion he was awarded a role to sink his teeth into - such as his fading world heavyweight boxing champion John L. Sullivan in Gentleman Jim - he would show us what a skilled character actor he really was.
Ward Bond appears in so many of my favourite movies that he has become a firm favourite himself. Who can forget Bert the cop and Frank Faylen's Ernie the cab driver, one of cinema's greatest bromances, in It's a Wonderful Life? Take a look at Bond's list of credits and it's almost a guarantee that you have seen him in a lot more films than you realised!

He, indeed, certainly is in a bounty of Classic films. Mr. Bond is one of a smattering of long-ago supporting actors who turn up with especially high frequency in well-known pre-1950s productions.
