I often wonder if HC is very insecure when it comes to his size. He was taunted as a little boy for being fat. Which might explain why he's going to the extreme in his weight lifting.

Is it body image issues or something else now?
There has been no announcement of an MOS sequel, while announcements of other DC movies are being announced. He has pics of himself standing next to a life-sized figure of MOS, and the figure/mannequin looked leaner and smaller than him! I don’t know, to me, it seems like he’s trying to remind the world that he is Superman (or the only actor who can play him). It looks more like he’s so obsessed keeping the MOS role to himself/clinging to the role, particularly as there are stories going around that WB may drop him or not make anymore Superman movies for a while. There’s always a chance WB will replace him with someone else if they decide to reboot Superman, as they did with Brandon Routh.

I agree that a part of this is him trying to prove that he's the right man for the job. My concern is that this may convince the studios not to go through with MOS 2, even more. They may think that he's so freakishly large that it just wouldn't suit the character. I just hope that when MOS 2 does come around (if it ever does) that his size will be more natural.
I'm even concerned about The Witcher. I know Geralt of Rivia is suppose to be a strong man, but no one from that era bulked up to that size. The audience might think "did they have steriods back then."

I hope Witcher is a big success for him and Netflix.
It may convince WB that he’s popular enough to consider him for another MOS movie, OR
He may wake up and realise that there are other great roles for him apart from MOS, and that he should put more effort looking for those other roles rather than keeping on being obsessed with body building.

Yep. Last I heard, Netflix was very satisfied with "The Witcher." I'm so excited to see this coming out. Let's hope TW will give Henry the respect that he deserves in Hollywood.

Yes! I agree that he has body image issues probably from that time as a kid. I just hope he gets over it because all that bodybuilding workouts is going to age him a lot faster. Look at how body builders look as soon as they stop. It's not a good look.

I think HC burned that bridge, and WB is in the driver's seat. They can get another actor and keep it pushing. Seriously, how many people can go back to their old job and get rehired, when they offended the boss?
Nope.

Oh. So he's really done with Superman?
I thought the headlines were negotiating tactics.

In HC's mind, he isn't. The better question is whether WB is done w/him being Superman.
Rumor is. . .
The negotiations, when he had nothing but turkeys under his belt, went terribly wrong.
Translation: he was trying to re-negotiate his contract when he really had no bargaining chips. Mind you, this was right after JL and around Feb/Mar, he wanted to tell WB that he wanted more than what they were offering?
Big no-no!

To be honest I don't know if that's a good thing for him or not. I mean superman is great for him but I would also like to see him expand his horizons in acting. I want him to be more diverse. Like the witcher. But then hes just playing another lead superhero type thing.
I remember the leaked WB emails calling him the lame superman or something like that and I wonder if they all still think of him that way and why? And is that why they won't give him the deal that he wants?

Sandra, it's all about money. It's show business, and if HC was bringing in the hits, they would still be in business with him.

It is isn't it?
He himself said that too. But I think Superman was more ego than anything else really.

HC can try to do a Russ Reynolds... Green Lantern was a massive dud, so he left DC, and campaigned hard to make Deadpool with some help from those hackers who hacked into Sony (or Fox’s) files to find the footage he filmed to campaign for a movie.
DC is really shaking things up. Will Smith is out playing Deadshot for Suicide Squad sequel. Ben Affleck is out playing Batman. Even award wining Jared Leto is not playing the Joker. DC does not hesitate to change actors, even those more well-known or have awards, so I do wonder about what they’ll be doing or have done with HC.
Only Gal and Jason Momoa seems safe for now...
