How to deal with production or release dates in extinct countries? I see no way to add them to the list, so it seams to be impossible to enter different release dates for east and west germany or to decide whether consider a czechoslovak movie as czech or slovak one

I don’t even know what is meant by keywords. Keywords are tags for the movie?

Samara and Elizabeth Jennings were discussing country name vs. keyword for East Germany, I believe, about 1/2 of the way down the previous page of this discussion:

I would suggest it as a Keyword.

I would suggest keywords aren't sufficient, as has been discussed, I see no argument provided for the use of keywords in this situation, but many for the inclusion of the historic countries.

I was sort of mystified by that conversation between them, and I'm guessing Moon Doggie was also mystified.

Ahh. Totally missed that. Just came here to post my reply for thinking west germany was removed. While it probably wasn’t there to begin with!

But i don’t think it should be solved with keywords. If it cant happen. Alright but keywords arent an option if you ask me.

It seems like "East Germany" can't be selected (anymore?) as a release country, while other extinct countries ( e.g.Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia) can. Strangely, for origin country and production country it works, but not as release country. Could somebody involved with the programming of this site (@travisbell ?) maybe have a look at it?

Please add Russian Empire. Now all films on the site released before the USSR period belong to modern Russia, which is not historically accurate.

some minutes ago i tried to set release date/ year to 1978 for https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/256329-der-meisterdieb because the movie was dated wrong to 2011... had to add double Phantom entry, because database showed wrong date and i was unable to edit the existing East Germany / XG Entry

Outrageous you can't add extinct Countrys as Release Country.

Maybe using "Earth" as Fixed entry for all Countrys because it's better for the database...

Der Meisterdieb aired first on TV in East Germany and started in cinema 23.03.1979 so it's correct listed here now http://maerchenfilm.info/filme-dermeisterdieb1978.html
