While I'm not the moderator who deleted those images (and can't speak on their behalf), I can explain why that generally happens. On TMDB we have something called "Contribution Bible". It contains (almost) everything there is to know about contributing to this site, and users are expected to follow it.

The reason some of them got deleted, is because they violated something in the contribution bible. In your case, the images were either:

Low Quality (we prefer to have no image at all rather than having a bad quality image)

Ended at the waistline (We prefer head-shot style pictures, where the photo ends just below the shoulders)

Or both

Familiarize yourself the contribution bible, and you'll be fine.
