Souma Kazuya és invocat al Regne d'Elfrieden mitjançant el ritual d'Invocació de l'Heroi. El rei Albert veu les seves qualitats i decideix cedir-li el tron i comprometre'l amb la seva filla Liscia. Aquí comença la història de la restauració d'un regne mitjançant l´ús de coneixements moderns.

Les finances del regne tenen problemes, així que Souma canvia la producció de cotó per a l'exportació a la producció de menjar per estabilitzar les vides del poble. Tot i així, segueix havent-hi molts problemes, de manera que per resoldre'ls i, atès que hi ha una òbvia carència de recursos humans, Souma decideix buscar al poble pla.

Amb una sola frase de Souma “Si teniu un do, vull fer-lo servir!”, gent de tot el país es reuneixen per veure l'elfa fosca Aisha, la bella Juna i l'intel·ligent Hakuya. Tot i això, de tots ells, al que més crida l'atenció a Souma és al gourmet Poncho.

Entre els reunits hi ha Tomoe, una nena dels llops místics, i la informació que porta causarà una gran impressió a Souma. Mentrestant, Poncho, que ha viatjat per tot el país a petició de Souma, ha aconseguit aliments sobre els quals la gent no havia pensat gaire.

Souma fa un moviment inesperat: enviar les seves tropes a Van, la capital d'Amidònia mentre Gaius intenta desesperadament portar de tornada el seu exèrcit per defensar la seva pàtria de l'enemic. I finalment, tots dos bàndols es troben a la plana de Van!

Julius, the son of Gaius, attempts to reclaim his former territory of Van from Souma, backed by the authority of the Gran Chaos Empire. The power to negotiate is given to Jeanne Euphoria, younger sister of Empress Maria Euphoria.

Van is returned to Julius as a result of the mediation of the Grand Chaos Empire, in exchange for a great deal of reparation costs. Souma returns to the Kingdom of Elfrieden, where many other problems yet remain.

Souma is victorious in both the Elfrieden civil war and the battle against Amidonia. However, his victory was won as a result of the devotion of a man named Georg. Still, the law is the law, and Souma must pass down a harsh judgment against Georg.

Weathering a number of problems, Souma more or less finishes dealing with the aftermath of the war. However, he was set upon by an inexplicable anxiety, the distress and pressure only felt by those in authority. It was not something he could bear alone.
