The Haunting of Bly Manorについてのディスカッション

Is spot fuckin' on. Made me do a double-take. The dude can act. One of the few child actors who actually has had a decent adult career. Too bad it didn't blow up as big as his talent dictates but isn't that the story of Hollywood seen ad nauseam?

Can't say I agree with you on that one. Most english accents in this sounded to me like a forced caricature. The whole thing felt pretty contrived. I loved Hill House so I was looking forward to this but found it very disappointing and hard to watch. There was nothing creatively interesting like that whole episode in the funeral home in Hill House that was all done in one shot.

I'm finding these kind of horror anthology series don't really work very well after the first season. American Horror Story just seemed to descend into repetitive excess in ever elaborate ways to try to shock.

To tell you the truth I couldn't get through it. I only got past the first two episodes. I was a huge American Horror Story fan but the one season that was a faux reality show I hated so much I never came back the next season. The first few seasons were good though.

You didn't miss much.

I only really enjoyed the first season of AHS and maybe the freakshow one. Awesome special effects in that one. I did keep watching season after season. I rally wanted to like them. If the faux reality one is the one I think you're talking about I think I stopped after that one too. Though I have considered checking out the 1984 one. Cos it's... y'know, the 80s. I can't help it.

I like the concept of using the same actors as different characters every season. The first season was probably the best one but I did like Asylum, the Witches one was OK, and I liked freak show as well. Hotel was meh but passable. Maybe I will check out the 1984 one. What's the premise on that one? Is it a post-apocalyptic plot?

BTW if you like the 80s and a good ghost story check out The Changeling with George C. Scott.

I don't know much about it, I think it's supposed to be like the slasher movies of the 80s. Which sounds like it could be fun.

Yeah, I've seen The Changeling. I don't remember a lot about it but I remember it being good.
