The hotel manager fucked with him from the beginning, all he wanted was what he paid for, but instead getting proper apology HM just kept going on and on and on provoking him, while Shane kept pretty rational approach. People say he is some privileged guy, but there is nothing privileged about asking for what you pay for even and especially if you are poor fella. I see people blaming him for being some man child in regards to his wife, but it's actually she behaving like small kid not knowing what she wants and again him behaving like adult giving her space if she wants it, not really fighting with her. Can't believe Shane is here serum as bad guy to blame for anything caused by ahole hotel manager or some issues his insecure wife has.

He was actually my favorite character, most reasonable character in whole show together with the son (at least since he lost his electronics), but I could see how they tried hard to portray him as some kind of ahole.
