For some reason, no matter the genre, fans are always pestering Showrunners for a "Musical” episode.
Well, in this case, all I can say is: Well Done!
I think it would have been hard (impossible?) for this type of show to pull off a "real world" musical episode, but "surreal"... It Works!
Also, to the writers for the premise!
I consider S17E22, "Why Is Everybody Singing," an absolute gem .

Yep.
To avoid future mis-clickings, gonna have to separate (Midsomers Murders & Murdoch Mysteries) in my queue.

Seems the fans weren't the only ones chomping at the bit for a musical episode.
Murdoch Mysteries Wiki: Trivia
"MM cast members have expressed wanting to do a musical version for several seasons but Bisson wasn’t convinced it was a good idea thus resisted – until now, making this the first musical episode of the series."
"According to writer and executive producer Paul Aitken, the seed for a musical mystery was planted by "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (episode: "Once More, With Feeling," on November 6, 2001) and has been gestating ever since. "

Well, FKA, I have never liked the 'musical' episodes on the various shows I watch, thank goodness there weren't very many.
