The long awaited 8th season of the "Mr. Kinpachi in Class 3B" series is coming back this fall. The original series began airing in 1979, and has conveyed various messages to viewers and society in every series. The environment surrounding senior students in junior high school have drastically changed throughout the years. This includes facing college entrance examinations and higher education, worrying about relationships between their parents, teachers and friends, and dealing with expectations and disappointments. The series will once again depict the passion of Kinpachi Sakamoto, the teacher who shares the joys and sorrows with his 25 students, and the students who, in turn, also grow with him. The drama is scheduled to air until March 2008.

受験と進学、家族、教師、友人といった人間関係への期待と失望に揺れ動く中学3年生を取り巻く社会環境は、時代と共に大きく変わってきている。

シリーズを通じて大きな一つのテーマを追うのではなく、一人ひとりの生徒を取り上げていくことにより、現代の15歳を取り巻く問題、悩みを描き出していく。インターネットの普及から「学校裏サイト」という存在を知った金八は、「私」というタイトルで「心のHP」への書き込みノートの提出を試みる。生徒と喜怒哀楽を共にし、親には堂々と説教をする金八が「学校とは何のためにあるのか」を問う。
