I coulda swore there was at least 4 seasons. This was a popular show, of course I only experienced it in reruns in the 80s but everybody always talked and referenced the Addams family. It had decent writing too not sure why it didn't last as long as it's contemporary, the goofy Batman series.

"The Munsters (1964-1966)" that was broadcast during the same period had only two seasons too, before being cancelled.
ABC and CBS said that "the public quickly got burned out on monster sitcoms".
Others say that it was because of the ratings drop, when "Batman (1966-1968)" started airing in 1966.
Side notes:
"The Addams Family" had 65 episodes (including special) and "The Munsters" got 70 episodes.
Nowadays that would be equal to 3-4 seasons.

I also think what may have thrown me off was the sheer amount of episodes they did in one season. 30 plus episodes a year is unfathomable especially in this day and age where if they squeeze out 10 episodes they think that have accomplished something.

Another difference with then and now is the length of each episode. Without commercials: then it was 25-30 minutes, now it is 17-22 minutes.
