Any big fans on here?

I've been working through all the old episodes and have reached Season 4. It's a bit weird because the Season 3 finale was that Diane was going to marry Frazier in Europe.

Anyway in the first episode of Season 4 it transpires that she didn't and after some flamboyance has landed up back in Boston living and working in a Convent. Sam goes to see her and it ends with her looking for a sign as to whether she should accept Sam's request to come back after he tells her he flew to Europe after her...

Anyway, next thing it's back to just the normal formulaic episodes, she's back at the bar but not with Sam, just working and dismissing him in the usual manner as an oaf...

It's like a big chunk of story just got jettisoned out the window!
