I agree with the original poster. This was great and while The Final Battle introduced us to Ham Tyler (who kicked ass) Final Battle was still a let down. As for the weekly series, well, it was a very fun mess.
I wanted a sequel to the original show, but it was rebooted a few years back and it was dreadful. The series talked its way into cancellation.

I will edit my OP;
Ham Tyler, as portrayed by the awesome Michael Ironside, is the only positive thing that happened after the original miniseries.
Everything else sucked.

I recall two actors from that series.
Robert Englund (Willie in "V"), who is best known for his role as Freddy from the movies series Nightmare On Elm Street.
Jane Badler (Diana in "V"), who played Shannon Reed in the TV Show Mission: Impossible.

Indeed, it was great.
From what I remember it developed into a series as well and I'll never forget the woman giving birth to the lizard baby!
The remake sucked.

Marc Singer and Michael Ironside, two more actors who went onto other things.
V the Mini-Series was huge, it was great effects for the time and on TV!

Yep, and I'm still mad that they didn't do a final story to see what happen with the hybrid child & mike. I would have rather seen that than a remake.
Also lets not forget Alien Nation. Another classic

I think final battle should've been it. The series was cancled and no conclusion.
I still like to see the original idea of contacting the visitors enemies in stopping them.
