I watched series one, and half of series two when it became apparent that his wife was going to end up in the Oval Office. It was so telegraphed that I stopped watching then and there. It was never in the same league as the British version - it replaced wit, subtlety and irony with violence and sexuality - they should have left it alone.
Agreed....it ranks right up there with True Blood and The Sopranos as the worst series finale ever.
The Sopranos ending was brilliant - pure, cinematic, screenplay genius. Here's two different breakdowns that, put together, show the unmistakable perfection in this final scene:
Now, I know that saying the finale was the worst is not a statement of whether it was technically good or not, but I think it's important to celebrate good craft, good storytelling, good art, and this is as good as it gets.
House of Cards, on the other hand, was atrocious. A travesty.
I just finished watching the last ever episode and thought, is that it?? So all those years of watching and we get this. It still feels unfinished. So disappointed.

Not just the ending, the whole of season 6 was terrible.
Claire was killing every who inconvenienced her left, right and centre except Doug.
The Shepherd's were this all powerful company but completely unheard of before.
Doug breaking the fourth wall was completely unnecessary.
Doug killing Frank made no sense.
So many more unanswered questions!
