The security guard had a gun on Bosch but Bosch talked him out of it by showing him a card that said VP of security. What? It's possible that there was a security guard that dumb, but extremely unlikely.

Haven't seen this but security guards aren't known for their intelligence.

In my experience that makes them more aggressive, not more obsequious like the guard in the show.
