Дискутиране на Star Trek: Voyager

The crew discover that aliens are experimenting on them.

There is an interesting conversation between Janeway and one of the aliens.

Alzen: "Please understand that there's a purpose to our actions. The data we gather from you may help us cure physical and psychological disorders that afflict millions. Isn't that worth some discomfort?"

Janeway: "I'm sure you'd see things differently, if your people were the ones being subjected to these experiments."

Alzen: "Just as your perspective would change if your people were the ones to live longer and healthier lives as a result. Don't forget, we've been observing you, Captain. I know the most important thing to you is the welfare of your crew. You'd even kill to protect them."
...
Janeway: "What you're doing isn't self-defence. It's the exploitation of another species for your own benefit. My people decided a long time ago that that was unacceptable, even in the name of scientific progress."
...
Janeway: "Sorry. These lab rats are fighting back."

It's good to know that one day in the future, humans of Earth will no longer exploit other species.

Does she mean sentient, intelligent species? Or all species?

I think she meant sentient intelligent species .Neelix still prepares animals for food(He makes a crab dish for 7)

Does it count if it's just replicated? I don't think they were carrying any food animals on Voyager.

Holograms are not a species.

Sounds like someone has either never seen Star Trek Voyager or is a Holo-ist

I've seen it, but they haven't fooled me.

Knix also thinks androids are not a species that's why he hates Picard .😁

Not just not a species, they're not a sentient life form. Because they are neither alive, nor sentient.

Plus they make for a cheap and lousy plot device for which the "writers" of Secret Hideout and Kurtzman in particular seem to have a hard on .Just like future alien A.I. wanting to destroy all biological life in the galaxy and mirror universes(although they don't have a clue how these alternate realities really work )
