And how did Hardaway die? He just disappeared? I watched it three times and his death wasn't shown. Unless I got some bad edit of it?

You have the same cut as everyone else, that's how it aired.

Professor Miller's ghost / Zombie / possessed body was supposed to kill him but David Dukes died during the production and the last act of the movie had to be cobbled together without him. Miller doesn't even get to enter the House just endlessly runs through trees reusing the same bit of footage over and over. So yes, Hardaway just vanishes because an important scene wasn't shot, i think we are supposed to assume that the carpet monster got him, but you can tell there's a bit missing from that scene.
