Обсудить Making It Through

KIKU TV's English translation of 渡る世間は鬼ばかりwas "Making It Through," which didn't sit well with screenwriter Sugako Hashida. I've since learned that the title to this story of an ex-Salary Man who turns his home into the upscale restaurant, "Tanokura," is more like "You will meet Demons in your life." My parents watched the series, but I found it slow going and didn't pay it much attention when it appeared in the 1990's on KIKU TV. This long form, multi-season series followed the five daughters of Daikichi Tanokura from 1990-2011, featuring the same actors. This became more interesting as the child actors became Tweens, Teens, then married adults. One big change was the death of Takuya Fujoka, the original Daikichi Tanokura, who was replaced by Ken Utsui in 2006. As KIKU TV will soon cease to be on June 28, does anyone out there remember this tale of battling in-laws?

Why can't I find anything about this series except on this site?

A Google! search for "Wataru Seken Wa Oni Bakari" will yield links to DramaWiki and AsiaWiki, not to mention Wikipedia. Information in English is fragmentary, but if you can read Japanese, there appear to be numerous links in that language. I've assembled what information I could from such sites to write the outline to the series, and what little I remember from 2006 onward. It is amazing and troubling that information about this series is wrong, misspelled, and missing. If you find out anything interesting, write a detailed review with all of the information you've been able to find. List your sources, if any. That's how I "fleshed out" this site's listing for "Aibou/Partners." Good luck and good data mining.;)

Thanks for the info.

Addendum: "Hijo No Raisensu" (License for the Heartless) 1970's Crime Drama This is a 1970's "Police Procedural" starring Amachi Shigeru as "Detective Aida" along with Yamamura Soh and Hidari Tonpei ("Columbo"-like "Detective Migita") My fading memory of this KIKU TV cop series is all I have left, since there isn't ANY data in English language movie & TV databases. An international search yielded a Season 1 Japanese language DVD set for $276, but little else. DramaWiki and AsiaWiki have fragmentary information at best, which is odd for a 1970's TV show. I could post an information request under Shigeru Amachi, even though there isn't a mention of this gritty detective show. Since this TV series played before the VCR era, I don't have Beta or VHS tapes to refer to as I have for "Aibou/Partners." Any old folks out there who remember this old cop show? https://www.musicjapanet.com/Music/Product/Japanese-Tv-Hijo-No-License-1S-DVD-4988101199525
