系村聪（上川隆也）采取与那种现代科学搜查理论所不同的方法来追捕犯人。他所根据的是被害人遗留下来的“被害品”。从孩子时代就特别珍惜的玩具呀，平时从不离身的东西之类……这是因为“被害品”上残留着被害人的爱，最重要的是它残留着被害人最后的信息。主人公系村不拘泥于案发现场，而是观察被害者家里和工作场所的东西，听取被害人家人的回答来推测被害人的人性。最终使被害人不为人所知的一面浮出水面，连接出只用科学搜查方法查不出的犯人的一面。“被害人为什么会被杀？”系村通过被害人留下的各种遗留品来听取被害人最后的“声音”。

講述的是通過分析鑑定員們從現場收集來的“遺留品”“遺留物”等，最終確定具有決定性的證據，直到逮捕犯人的故事。

Satoshi Itomura est méticuleux sur les scènes de crime pour appréhender les auteurs de crimes. Il cherche la solution au travers des biens de la victime. Il es mal vu par ses collègues de la première division car il mène des enquêtes sans autorisation et en dehors de toute hiérarchie. Miyuki Oda, enquêteuse débutante, va découvrir par le détective scientifique une autre manière de résoudre des crimes.

Satoshi Itomura is an assistant police investigator who belongs to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Scientific Investigation Team. Reenactments, fingerprint and voice data collections, profiling... His team collects scientific evidence and pieces together fragments of information in order to help build evidences. However, Itomura often does not care about the scientific approach and instead pays a great deal of attention to the things that the victims always carried with them or treasured. And he focuses on these things because they usually carry the victim’s dying wishes, understanding that last message not only helps solve the cases but also brings closure to the depressed family of victims.
