主人公秋津政之助是一個浪人。他害怕見到生人，很容易緊張和說錯話，所以丟掉了好不容易找到的工作。因為劍法不錯，所以被美男子彌一雇用為保鏢。沒想到彌一其實是從事誘拐綁架活動的組織「五葉」的頭領。因為家裡需要用錢，政之助無法辭掉這份工作。
