Not a clue. The family is close. They would all gather for any one of them. I have never liked Beth. She seemed a little less selfish in this episode, but I still would smile if she left the show.

I know they would all gather for any of them but it's the order of that gathering and the call to Toby first -the why and where of that is the mystery. Also Toby is in bed alone seemingly angry, depressed and not wearing his wedding band.

Right now I think it's Kate. But Randall calling Toby first could be to throw us off. It could be Beth but, if so, it makes no sense that Randall would call Toby first.

I think the way it's being done is all to throw us off- we may find out later that maybe Toby wasn't even the one called first.

If it's Kate why would older daughter Tess be there (and the only one there with Randall?) I don't remember scenes with Randall's daughters and Kate showing they have a really strong relationship?

As I was typing this it occurred to me that Kevin is the one that has a really strong bond with Randall's daughters and Tess seems super upset , afraid and hesitant about going to see whoever it is. Randall says something like, 'It's been a year....' -which makes it even more mysterious. Who and where is this person (a loved family member ) that they have not been to see in a year?

I think showing Toby being called seemingly first and shown alone in bed with no ring leads us to automatically think 'Kate', that is why I don't think it is.

Right now I don't think it's Beth because where is the youngest daughter- unless they show her in a scene later in the flash forward. Probably what they will do as the flash forward progresses- show different family members being called or arriving there- was that even a hospital?
