讨论 The West Wing

Just finished up my 3rd rewatch of Season 2 and whilst I remembered the scenes, I forgot how powerfully emotive they are. Leo's final "Watch this!" as the president puts his hands in his pockets is just fantastic.

There's one moment I really liked as well, a tiny detail, that they move the press room for the conference because of asbestos, and CJ is really shocked about the asbestos "There's been asbestos here the whole time?!" and when the news presenter introduces the "PRESIDENTIAL HEALTH CRISIS" conference on the TV, he references the change of room and says they've "been told" the normal room is "closed for repairs". It's such a small metaphor, but represents the entire coverup and subsequent reelection u-turn. Genius writing as always from Sorkin.

Can't wait for the first in the two parter on The West Wing Weekly podcast later this week! Hope they mention this detail :)

West Wing was one of my absolute favourite tv series. Unfortunately I can't remember all the episodes. The one that really sticks in my mind was in the first season (I think) It was Christmas and Toby Ziegler arranging the funeral for the homeless vet found dead on a park bench. Showing the military funeral to the tune of the Little Drummer Boy was truly moving.

Yeah, the episode you're thinking of is 'In Excelsis Deo'. Richard Schiff got an Emmy for that performance. It's heartfelt indeed. Not actually one of my favourites, but that doesn't mean much, because they're all so damn good!

I agree. I actually found that scene on youtube and kept a copy of it.
