La coppia si reca in Italia per celebrare il matrimonio su una nave, nonostante ad entrambi non entusiasmi questa unione. Infatti, Ranmaru è stato cacciato dalla moglie Kaoru durante loro prima notte. La storia comincia a prendere una piega interessante quando Al (Alberto), un italiano a bordo della nave, sembra interessarsi in modo particolare a Ranmaru.

Ranmaru et Kaoru sont tous deux issus de familles mafieuses et se connaissent depuis leur plus tendre enfance. Pourtant au moment de se marier, d'un mariage arrangé par leur famille, Kaoru n'apprécie guère d'avoir Ranmaru comme futur époux. Mais c'est à ce moment là qu'ils rencontre Al, un Italien amoureux du japon et de sa culture, qui lui tombe immédiatement amoureux de Ranmaru du premier regard...

A Foreign Love Affair is about Ranmaru, the son of a yakuza mob. He marries yakuza daughter Kaoru on an Italian cruise ship. Because they are Japanese, they are the center of attention on the boat. On their wedding night, the couple fight, and Kaoru kicks him out of their room. Ranmaru goes to the boat's bar and fights with some yakuza. He is assisted by Alberto, an Italian man who happens to be fluent in Japanese. To show his gratitude, Ranmaru invites Alberto to have a drink with him, which leads to the two of them having sex. The next morning, Ranmaru finds out that Alberto is the ship's captain.
