Kang Mirae, an ugly girl, who just wanted to get love like others, gets plastic surgery before going into university. Mirae dreams of beautiful twenties with her new face, but her self-esteem decreases in front of Hyeon Sooa, who is a natural beauty. Moreover, Do Gyeongseok, a middle school classmate, who knows about Mirae’s face before her plastic surgery, appears in front of her.

Mirae receives all the attention at the orientation. Mirae feels awkward to get people’s attention. Kim Chanwoo plainly approaches Mirae, while Sooa seems to look at them with suspicious eyes. Meanwhile, Gyeongseok keeps appearing in front of Mirae. Mirae feels anxious as Gyeongseok knows her past face. However, her heart flutters at the same time.

The day after the frosh week party, Chanwoo makes the freshmen assemble. Out of revenge, Chanwoo tries to make Miwae suffer. Meanwhile, people find out that Gyeongseok and Mirae went to the same middle school.

The incident at the lab gets people talking again. Meanwhile, Mirae meets her role model, Na Hyeseong, at the perfume sampling event. While spending time with her, she learns something about Gyeongseok. Mirae gets a call from Hyeseong and falls in a dilemma.

Mirae finally finds out who has been following her at night. With the school festival coming up, Mirae is asked to wait the tables as one of the servers of the chemistry department. Mirae and Gyeongseok clear up the misunderstandings they had between each other over some beer.

While waiting tables at the festival, Park Yongcheol recognizes Mirae and humiliates her. She learns that it was Sooa that invited Yongcheol to the school and becomes confused. Sooa explains herself, saying that she didn’t know she was inviting the person who graduated from the same middle school as her.

Left alone in the room, Mirae can’t get Gyeongseok out of her head and keeps thinking about the situation. Meanwhile, Lee Jihyo finds out something about Gyeongseok by looking at his phone. On top of that, he hears about how Hyeseong got hospitalized.

For the class assignment, Gyeongseok and Mirae watch a movie together. Mirae tells herself that it’s not a date, but at the end of the day, she realizes that she won’t be able to think of Gyeongseok as just a guy friend. Meanwhile, Gyeongseok is looking for a place to stay and a way to make money.

After deciding to live with Yeon Wooyoung away from his family, Gyeongseok starts realizing the hardships of life one by one. Mirae keeps her guard up, trying to see Gyeongseok as just a guy friend. When Hyeseong drops by Mirae’s neighborhood, she runs into Gyeongseok again.

Mirae gets a part-time job, and Gyeongseok also gets hired at the same place. Gyeongseok and his sister, Do Gyeonghee, learn about the truth behind why their mom left them. Meanwhile, Sooa asks Mirae to meet to discuss something.

Sooa carries out her evil plan to ruin the relationship between Gyeongseok and Mirae. Gyeonghee moves into her mom's house and the mother and daughter finally reunite after a long time. While working, Gyeongseok gets himself in trouble by punching his coworker.

Gyeongseok asks Mirae why she can’t go out with him. Although he can’t understand, he tells her that he will wait for her. Even after turning Gyeongseok down, Mirae can’t stop thinking about it. Meanwhile, Wooyoung asks her to have dinner with him.

Sooa openly announces that she likes Gyeongseok to the people at the lab. Mirae starts thinking that Sooa might not be any different from her. Sooa’s actions help Mirae make up her mind, and Mirae finally confronts Sooa.

Gyeongseok and Mirae start dating without telling anyone. However, dating secretly isn’t easy. They try everything they can to not get caught by others. Meanwhile, strange things are happening around Sooa.

Mirae and Gyeongseok have only happy days ahead of them now, so they decide to let everyone know that they’re dating each other. As everyone learns that they’re dating now, Sooa’s identity gets known too. Meanwhile, Mirae and Gyeongseok visit their old middle school together.

Mirae and Gyeongseok misses the last bus to Seoul and get to spend a night. Mirae’s parents get to know she is now dating Gyeongseok. Also, everyone else learns that Mirae and Gyeongseok are now a couple. In the meantime, Sooa gets threatened and attacked by a man who has been stalking her.
