Διαδραματίζεται στην πόλη Beiping κατά τη διάρκεια των 22 ημερών πριν από την ίδρυση της Λαϊκής Δημοκρατίας της Κίνας το 1949 και είναι μια ιστορία για τις δραστικές αλλαγές στη ζωή των τριών φίλων Jin Hai, Tie Lin και Xu Tian καθώς και ένα ειδύλλιο μεταξύ του Xu Tian και της Tian Dan.

Situé dans la ville de Beiping pendant les 22 jours précédant la fondation de la République populaire de Chine en 1949, ce film raconte les changements radicaux dans la vie de trois frères, Jin Hai, Tie Lin et Xu Tian, ainsi qu'une romance entre Xu Tian et Tian Dan. En enquêtant sur le meurtre qui a coûté la vie à sa fiancée, le policier Xu Tian se lance sur une piste qui le conduira finalement à participer à la libération de Beiping. Jin Hai, Tie Lin et Xu Tian sont trois amis aussi proches que des frères. Confrontés à des changements historiques et à des croyances contradictoires, ils font des choix qui les mènent sur des chemins divergents. Xu Tian et Tian Dan, membre du parti communiste, se rencontrent dans leurs moments les plus difficiles et trouvent un objectif commun qui les rapproche.

Set in the city of Beiping during the 22 days before the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949 is a story about the drastic changes in the lives of three brothers Jin Hai, Tie Lin, and Xu Tian as well as a romance between Xu Tian and Tian Dan. In investigating the murder that claimed the life of his fiancee, policeman Xu Tian starts on a trail that will eventually lead to his involvement in the liberation of Beiping. Jin Hai, Tie Lin, and Xu Tian are three friends who are as close as brothers. In the face of historic changes and conflicting beliefs, they make choices that take them on diverging paths. Xu Tian and communist member Tian Dan meet during their lowest moments and find a common goal that brings them together.
